Girl Carl's Bio
Carl started out as a pixie in a farm pond in central Iowa. A couple of close calls with a
bull frog and a large mouth bass pushed her to find new horizons, so she packed up
her meth lab and moved to the big city, where people know how to party like rock
stars. Several years and one VH1 "Where Are They Now" Special later, she has
blossomed into a lovely young woman whose hobbies include eating cake, riding
bikes, and filling up balloons with helium so she can let them go and watch until they
disappear into the big blue sky. She's medium height, cute as a button, and has nice
taste in clothes.

My favorite Care Bear as a kid was always the yellow one with the sunshine on his
chest, Sunshine Bear. If Carl Atkinson were a Care Bear she’d be a beer-gurgling,
sailor-mouthed, boy-crazy, baby-loving, dog-petting, bike-riding, yellow-chested
Sunshine Bear. I love Carl, though I wish she’d let me call her Carolyn, as it took me
years to feel comfortable calling her Carl. I just feel like a Carl is going to bang my
skull open with a Louisville Slugger, not charm my pants off

Carl's race season was two short laps.  That's all it took.  Opus will never be the
same.  Carl also took on Iowa, something no other Cat 6'r could do.  That week
the corn grew taller, simple people in unincorporated towns felt like heroes, and
a group of men in black shirts cracked a smile.  

Carl will hopefully hold her position on the team next year. There's
unsubstantiated talk of her retirement from racing.   Two laps sounds like it was
two too many.  If so you'll hear a sigh of relief from a few potato's destined to be
tots.  If not look to her to be dominating the boards in Blaine.  Either way she
still be turning pedals with Cat 6 on our infamous Sunday Morning Spanker
group ride.
