Dan was the product of our 2004 recruiting efforts. Too bad for the other teams. Dan
races mountain bikes really fast and he has enough extra time to do just as much road
racing as we do. Dan also has a little more guts and stamina then we have. In his first
few races after slipping off the main field Dan, in Rudy-like fashion, rode the rest of the
race into the wind all by himself and finished strong. Most other Cat 6ers get off their
bikes and call their girlfriends.
Dan is also our second rock star in Cat 6. He had "hair down to here" at one point and
has a beautiful set of cowbells and drumsticks left over from his touring days. We'll do
our best to find a late eighties photo of the D complete with Appetite for Destruction
t-shirt, torn jeans and unlaced high tops standing next to his tour van with very serious
look on his face. Maybe.
This year Dan will find his groove in the road peloton and likely become Cat 6's
ace-in-the-hole solo breakaway specialist.
